The Facilitator Training Course teaches participants the basic knowledge and skills required to support those suffering with grief. "Grief" refers to a variety of emotions associated with losing someone, such as love, regret and sorrow. Participants will learn how to effectively support children who have lost a parent or loved one through disaster, accident, illness, or suicide.
The Facilitator Training Course consists of lectures and workshops (role play) which take place over 2 days (10:30 am – 4:30 pm).
Participants will understand how nobody can feel pain and sorrow on someone else’s behalf, and how we cannot take care of others if we cannot take care of ourselves.
Participants will also come to realize just how important it is not to judge or evaluate by averaged adult standards and accept children as they are in order to provide effective support.
This will in turn lead to effective mental support for children in local areas and communities.
