BT0024 Higashi-Matsushima City
We lecture how the City of Higashi-Matsushima, Miyagi Prefecture handled the situation at the time of Great East Japan Earthquake, and also discuss community reconstruction planning after the disaster.
We will give you an outline of the process, as well as an overall framework on how the City of Higashi-Matsushima progressed with community reconstruction planning – such as disaster restoration, mass relocation of residents, seawall construction, disaster waste recycling, and projects on “Eco-friendly City of the Future”, and other non-structural measures.
Participants will learn:
• the situation of the damage caused by the disaster and the emergency response in Higashi-Matsushima City, Miyagi Prefecture,
• the disaster response in cooperation with local residents and local communities, as well as the establishment of the restoration plan
• the reconstruction plan that is not just limited to reconstruction, but aims for a city which has sustainable development of the community, and the recovery and reconstruction process based on the “Eco-friendly City of the Future”concept.
We mainly accept participants from half to whole day course in combination with other programs.
Approximate program fees per course:
Half day (up to 4 hours): 50,000 yen
Whole day (4 to 8 hours): 80,000 yen
