Contents/ Itinerary for BOSAI Tourism

You will learn about the residents’ former daily- lives, the extent of the earthquake damage, and useful information and lessons as you go around the coastal area of Yamamoto Town, Miyagi Prefecture, which was destroyed by the tsunami, as well as the new inland areas in Yamamoto Town, Miyagi Prefecture where new towns are being created.
Basic course [example: 4 hours - course]: Yamamoto Town Office ⇒ urban area in front of Shin-Yamashita Station ⇒ former JR Yamashita Station, the town's memorial monument (get off the bus)⇒ Disaster Prevention Park ⇒ Joban Yamamoto Driving School ruins ⇒ remains of Nakahama Elementary School (get off the bus) ⇒ former JR Sakamoto Station ⇒ urban area in front of Shin-Sakamoto Station ⇒ city area around Shin-Miyagi Hospital ⇒ Yamamoto Town Office
*If the tour takes place when the remains of Nakahama Elementary are closed, we will only visit the outside area.

What we want to tell through the experiences of BOSAI Tourism Contents

We want to share the lessons we learned from the Great East Japan Earthquake to raise disaster awareness, so that fewer people will experience the same kind of hardships as we did, and to help you realize the importance of what you can do as well as the importance of self-help and cooperation.

Please inquire about the maximum number of participants. It is also possible to accept school, corporate, regional and governmental groups. However, the attic of the remains of Nakahama Elementary School has only limited space available, so confirmation is required. Fee: Private car 4,000 yen (up to 3 cars allowed)* 1 guide / tour will be operated using transceivers
Large bus 7,000 yen, microbus 5,000 yen * Consultation required
Entry to the remains of Nakahama Elementary School requires additional fees.
Entry fee: Adult 400 yen, high school students 300 yen, elementary and junior high school students 200 yen, free for children under elementary school age.
