BT0010 Yamamoto Town
We introduce a cutting-edge farm so where visitors can become familiar with agriculture and gain further knowledge about it. The strawberries produced in Yamamoto Town, Miyagi Prefecture, suffered devastating damage from the tsunami which occurred after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Visitors will be able to see how this farm has been recovering via the introduction of state-of-the-art agricultural technology and ICT.
Families, schools, and companies, both from Japan and overseas, are welcomed for a wide range of purposes – such as social studies, corporate training programs, and those research for considering entering into the agricultural business.
Creating a robust industry, as well as aiming for sustainable prosperity and job security, will in turn assist reconstruction in the region.
