Listen to an explanation about two people who lost their lives at the time of the disaster and the lecturers thoughts about their experience while exploring a disaster affected area of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Also think about challenges and teamwork that is necessary to save precious lives.

*Evacuation from school on the day of the earthquake, moving to Togura junior high school the day after the disaster occurred, and moving to Tome City in Miyagi Prefecture two days later. Participants will follow these experiences by exploring the same places.
The loss of lives of those who had a strong connection with their community, has a large impact on the surrounding people. We must increase learning opportunities from our experiences and share the importance of having judgement skill and ability to take action to protect precious lives.

Travel expense to the venue (from Tagajo City in Miyagi Prefecture) and document fee (150 yen per person). Negotiable in other potential costs. Please prepare the requester's means of transportation.
60 to 90 minutes (from the site of Togura elementary school to Aramachi), 2 to 3 hours (the site of Togura elementary school). *There are some stories during the bus trip.
