BT0073 Minamisanriku Town
Receive an explanation about the psychological wounds from the disaster while visiting sites of a disaster affected area of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Then, think about what the physical damage and wound from disaster. We will travel around the areas below with participants:
1. Site of Togura Elementary School and Coast
2. Utsuno high ground
3. Isuzu shrine
4. The site of Togura junior high school
5. The site of Zennoji elementary school
*Evacuation from school on the day of the earthquake disaster, moving to Togura elementary school the day after the disaster occurred, and moving to Tome City in Miyagi Prefecture two days later. Participants will follow these experiences by exploring the same places. It is also possible to move around abolished schools in Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture where the people lived for a year after the disaster.
There is a lot of physical reconstruction after a large-scale disaster. However, psychological wounds from disasters can become an unthinkable obstacle . What seems like a trivial issue may become a bigger problem later and it can make reconstruction difficult in some cases. Therefore, staying close to victims and giving them support to aid them in feeling safe during reconstruction is essential.

Travel expense to the venue (from Tagajo City in Miyagi Prefecture to a venue) and document fee (150 yen per person). Negotiable in other potential costs. Please prepare the means of transportation for the lecturer.
3 hours (from the site of Togura elementary school to the site of Zennoji elementary school), 3 hours and a half (From the site of Togura elementary school to the site of Zennoji elementary school. There will be a lecture at the venue or in a bus before field tour.)
