This tour offers a privileged opportunity to learn about community development and business reconstruction from regional leaders who are knowledgeable about the situation during the time of the disaster.

[Minamisanriku region]
A tour to visit commercial facilities (Sansan shopping arcade etc.), accommodations (Iriyado etc.) and studios (YES studio etc.). Guided tours of local towns by tourism industry workers, as well as opportunities for listening to stories and lectures from business operators.

[Onagawa region]
Visit the station, facilities, and promenade shopping arcade all built after the disaster. Why not try a seasonal fishing experience, Spanish tile painting, or hand-cooking kamaboko (fishcake.)

What we want to tell through the experiences of BOSAI Tourism Contents

As the town was washed away during the disaster, just how did people act during that critical situation?
Learn about the widespread devastation which also befell the leaders of the government, and how community development and business reconstruction of the Tohoku disaster areas of Minamisanriku and Onagawa progressed as a result of the unity of the government and citizens.
