BT0109 Ishinomaki City
People who worked as journalists for the Ishinomaki Hibi News at the time of the Great East Japan Earthquake explain the situation in Ishinomaki on that day using the wall newspaper and pictures taken during that time. They will also talk about the reasons for making the wall newspaper and how it was received by the disaster affected people. Furthermore, participants will receive an explanation on why this project was praised as the "core of journalism" from all angles afterward.
We want you to know about the importance of correct information and not getting misguided by rumors in times of disaster, the local journalists who never gave up on their mission despite the circumstances, and the strong bonds with the locals who believed in them.
